No Comment Yet

KuCoin has been gaining a ton of attention in the cryptocurrency community and for good reason! KuCoin launched their cryptocurrency exchange on September 15th 2017 and has been growing at an impressive clip ever since due to their uptime, focus on customer service, intuitive trading platform and being the first in the market to list certain new coins as they become available. For these reasons and no fees for a deposit, KuCoin gains new users everyday, and we will show you how to create an account and use the platform.

Step 1: Go to the KuCoin Website

Step 2: Follow the Sign-Up Steps

KuCoin will provide you with a Sign up screen. Registering with KuCoin is very easy, and they will guide you through the process of entering in your email and creating a password. Be sure to create a strong password and not share it with anyone. Once you complete these steps and hit the Next button, KuCoin will send you a confirmation email that contains a verification link. Congratulations! You now have a KuCoin account! Once you receive that email, log in to your newly created KuCoin account.

Step 3: Additional Security, Enable 2FA (2-Factor Authentication)

We believe in strong security and highly recommend that you enable 2-Factor authentication. This adds another strong layer of security to your KuCoin account. KuCoin prompts you to utilize Google 2-FA which you can download via the Apple App Store or from Google’s Play depending on your operating system. You can navigate to 2-FA set up on KuCoin by going to the right side of your screen and selecting the Settings tab.

Once you are at the 2FA screen on KuCoin and you have downloaded Google’s authenticator app, you can open the Google Authenticator app on your phone, click the “+” symbol at the bottom right of your phones screen and select “Scan a barcode” use your phone to scan the QR code on your computer screen. You will now be give your codes, refreshed every few seconds. Don’t forget to write down your secret key backup on a piece of paper and store it somewhere safe. The backup secret key is located above the QR code on the KuCoin screen on your computer.

Now your account is not only set up, but has an additional layer of 2FA Security in place. You are now ready to use your KuCoin account!

Using Your Account: Deposit Funds

KuCoin has a great feel, and is very easy to use. The whole website is very intuitive and depositing funds is very straightforward. On the Markets overview screen (2nd tab in the top navigation bar) you can see all of the available trading pairs. These pairings include some of the most popular coins like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Neo, etc. as well as some new to market coins.

Chose the trading pair you wish to use by clicking on whichever pair you would like to work with and you will be taken to KuCoin’s trading screen. Here you will get a good overview of the coin as it trades as KuCoin displays the trading pair’s order book and chart.

Everytime you go to the trading screen for the first visit of the day, or after it has timed out, you will be prompted to enter your Google 2FA again. This takes a second to do but adds a good layer of security.

There is a tab name ‘Assets’ in the top menu, and in that tab you can select ‘Deposit’ on the left of the page- from the drop down menu you simply choose the coin you intend to deposit. You then carefully add the address as well as the amount you wish to deposit, click Confirm (button at the bottom of the screen). KuCoin generates a new wallet that belongs on KuCoin for your funds. Always be certain of which coin you are depositing and make sure that you are sending the correct coin type to the same exact coin type’s wallet. For example always be sure you are sending Litecoin to a Litecoin wallet. Sending one coin to another type of coin’s wallet means you could lose the funds forever.

Trading on KuCoin, Withdrawal and Deposit Fees.

The fee structure on KuCoin as of early 2018 is favorable for the trader. This is because KuCoin is offering fairly low fees for trading – 0.1% from the coin bought. There is no fee for making a deposit. Withdrawal fees are dependent on the type of coin you withdraw, for example;

ETH 0.01 Ether, BTC 0.0005 BTC and LTC 0.001 LTC

For NEO and GAS there is no withdraw fee. There is the possibility that these fees can change, so be sure to follow updates from KuCoin.

Trading on KuCoin:

Choose the pair you would like to trade from the ‘Markets’ tab at the top of the main KuCoin screen. Click on the pair.

This will take you to the order book, and you will be prompted to enter your 2FA code from your Google Authenticator app.

Once you enter the code the screen will display the trading pairs chart- which is adjustable by many different time view (8hr down to 1 min). On the right of the screen you will see the last trades that were made for this market. Directly next to that is the order book.

On the bottom middle you can display your active orders and dealt orders. On the bottom left you can see the market depth.

Lastly, on the bottom right you can enter in the trades you would like to make- you can perform market buy and sell and limit buy and sell orders. This feature is very intuitive.

You set the desired price, select the amount in units of the coin you wish to trade and the total coins you would like to spend (the cost).  This part should be easy to do, you will need to be specific about the amounts and units you wish to trade, and select “buy’ or “sell” at the bottom of the screen to initiate the trade- be sure to fill in the correct buy or sell inputs depending on the action you wish to take.

I hope that you enjoy KuCoin! In a time when many exchanges are shut down for upgrades and customer service is at low levels, KuCoin has been delivering an intuitive trading platform, constant uptime and great customer service, and has been gaining a great number of fans in the process!
